Getting to Know AI for Employment and Everyday Life

Tutor-led digital skills provision supporting AI literacy, employability and digital inclusion

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly embedded within workplaces, public services and everyday digital interactions. As AI technologies continue to evolve, there is a growing need for adults to develop the knowledge, confidence and critical understanding required to use these technologies safely, responsibly and effectively.

Getting to Know AI for Employment and Everyday Life is a tutor-led, non-accredited adult learning programme that supports learners to develop practical AI literacy alongside broader digital, employability and information literacy skills. The programme aligns with the objectives of adult skills, digital inclusion and employability initiatives by equipping learners with the confidence to engage with emerging technologies while developing transferable skills for employment and everyday life.

Learners are supported to identify individual learning objectives, understand how AI literacy can support their personal, educational or employment aspirations, and identify appropriate progression opportunities following completion of the programme.

Where appropriate, learners are signposted to further learning opportunities, digital skills provision, employability programmes and other relevant support services.

Learner-centred quality assurance using RARPA

This programme is delivered using the Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA) framework, providing a structured quality assurance process for non-accredited adult learning.
